Links for Bella's situation

Elbow dysplasia is apparently not that uncommon in "working dog" breeds. I seem to have developed the idea over the years that such congenital problems were a result of greedy or ignorant breeders and that a "mutt" would escape such problems. Of course, we have no solid information on Bella's "breeding" and of course we love her now, so in some respects the history doesn't matter at this point. But I do find it interesting when you bump up against an assumption or prejudice that you didn't even realize you had.
