Well the dog that eats dirt is having GI duress. We woke this morning early with her tummy making all sorts of gurling upsetted sounds. Not much interested in breakfast, but in joyous wonder over the jook I made her later. Imagine how happy I was when, in her usual casual eating style she tipped the bowl over to lap it up off of the floor. Did I mention that was in the bedroom?Do they care when the UPS man arrives? Today is the first time they've even lifted their heads, what did they check the package status online or have an arrival notice texted to them? In addition to a couple of toys, the "pick-up" bags arrived today. Backyard clean-up time is a whole new ballgame! The toys both have a rope part to them and Bella immediately set about shredding them. One toy is sort of ring shaped and she loves it; we have begun serious "drop it" training. She'll be ready for the "drop it" olympics in no time. Sophie was mildly interested in the toys, but genuinely excited over the sample treats that were included in the shipment. Is it possible they smelled those salmon treats while they were still in the truck?
The marching band came by twice today; I'm going to move the van so I have a better view. This was the first day I could recognize what they were playing. I love seeing them march by in their street clothes!
Left over Thai food made a tasty lunch. Tonight will be Curried Squash & Spinach Soup. And the reward of going to the grocery store after dinner was great, including the opportunity to see the coffee counter / tables area packed with men and women just off a boat, their laptops open and craving connection with others. Every screen seemed to be pointed to a webcam view.
It struck me today that I need to rethink the communication. I feel punished in the current situation, a forced disconnection, a forced separation. That's not the point! What's gotten in to me? Why am I feeling this way?

Why am I feeling this way?Not much on the agenda for this evening. It's raining, but I need to walk over and water the porch pots and the window boxes and then collect the mail. I have "clean closet - Mine" on my list of things to do and have made very little progress, so maybe I'll grab a drawer and turn on Ghost Hunters. And of course, we need a big round of snuggle time on the couch.
Hey it's Ghost Hunters night? I wish I had a tv. I guess I'll have to wait the new one to show up on the website.
