Late Night TV
Late night tv in the bay area definitely belongs in the "plus" column. There are no less than 3 major PBS stations and each has a digital and / or alternate broadcast, so sometimes there are 6 or 7 PBS series from which to choose. I've loved how frequently one of the British mysteries is on, Hercule, Sherlock, etc. Tonight I vound a treasure: Wolfman Mac's Chiller Drive-Inn. Wolfman is busy with his taxes but engages in witty banter with his friend Boney Bob (yup, he's a skeleton) and the movie is introduced as a really good B movie. The movie starts and it seems like a really bad B movie, but so bad it's funny and then I realize there have been a few additional sound effects added to the track. It's in the spirit of MST3K, but no banter, just a sound effect here and there, like a scene of the main character sleeping and then a farting sound, or wolf-calls when the female lead crosses the street. At first I thought it was going to be annoying, but it's been funny so far. Definitely must mark this as a favorite (now see I was tempted to use "favorite" as a verb, but restrained myself) for Scrunchiolo to watch when she arrives.
