Playing in the Bathtub

Scrunch's mom & step-dad came over to check out the progress of our bath renovation. Pocket door, closet expansion, all the new porcelain and hardware, all inspected and the excitement shared. Gosh, I want to have a bath party once this is done! Of course in the meantime, I can't resist climbing in the tub and having an "air bath" and I convinced Scrunch to get in once! Even Bella is getting used to the idea of the bathtub in the living room.

    omg. i so remember the fixtures hanging out in the living room phase! just keep remembering that you need to make a mess to fix a mess. it works well when you want to pull your hair out. so worth it though! and i LOVE that tub. I so wish we could have gotten one of those but our teenie tiny bathroom would not allow it. Still though, there is nothing like the first bath in a new bathroom! yay!

    i'm hearing JRRT sing his bath song in my mind...

    Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
    that washes the weary mud away!
    A loon is he that will not sing:
    O! Water Hot is a noble thing!

    O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain,

    but better than rain or rippling streams
    is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

    O! Water cold we may pour at need
    down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
    but better is Beer if drink we lack,
    and Water Hot poured down the back.

    O! Water is fair that leaps on high
    in a fountain white beneath the sky;
    but never did fountain sound so sweet
    as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
