Santa Barbara Update

I spoke with Lylianne on Monday afternoon. She and Michelle had been evacuated, but are back home now. Randy's family was evacuated the same night, along with 30,000 other people. She said the first call came around midnight and they were without power, so she was very happy to have the telephone that doesn't require electricity. The next call came a couple of hours later. It was time to go. When she and Michelle got to Donita's, Donita got the first call warning to be on high alert. Donita is so calm, she just started packing up a few things and told her mom don't worry, we have family all up and down the coast!

Lylianne also told me about her first visit to Starbucks, just this past Sunday. They stopped to get their pastor a gift card for his birthday and she saw some people from her church that she knew and started talking with them. She could hear that Michelle was also talking to someone and overheard her recounting her participation in the Special Olympics. Lylianne, a bit distracted, talking with her friends, feels someone take her hand to shake it and assuming it's someone from her church, thinks, "wow, what a big strong hand, who is this" and when she looks up it's Schwartzenegger and Michelle is introducing her. So, Michelle had a nice story to tell to her friends at church.
