Quaking Aspen

It's only been two weeks, but the quaking aspen has filled out and is providing our kitchen with privacy and the wonderful shimmering shade and light with every breeze. Today was gray, a high gray that let the warmth of the sun through. It's raining now, genuinely raining, not just a drop or two on your face and then nothing more.

The rhubarb is growing big, the dogwood tree is filling in, and the hawthorne looks about to bloom. Every once in a while I think I hear thunder, but it must just be the wind.

Two weeks has me thinking about the length of a season, thirteen weeks technically. Spring will be over when we get back; in fact it will be the first day of Summer. Next year, I think I would like to be here for all thirteen weeks of Spring.

  1. Lovely! Yes, I agree we have a lovely Spring, and I would like to be there for all of it and Summer Solstice.
