Turkey Blog

It has been suggested that I should blog the cooking of the turkey this year. It's an important turkey year. We broke down and replaced the weber. We're set for smoking/roasting our bird on the barbque once again. I have such fond memories of late night turkey at walnut creek and Nefu guarding the weber the entire time. He knew he'd get those innards if he was patient. And even more memories of turkey smoked with rosemary at Manor, rosemary so plentiful and oily that the smoked poured out green. I love an excuse to tend a fire, but this year it may be raining and windy and cold. Don't get me wrong, I'm up for the challenge.

Jane trimmed her Rosemary this morning and I've got a big shopping bag full, hidden away for Thursday. Bella tried to take it away from me when I walked in the door; just wait till she smells it coming from the q.

We have an 18 lb turkey so we're looking at about 3 hours cooking time. Dinner at 1:00pm, so I'll be firing up the coals about 9:30am.
