Good Starts

I love prep, planning, and packing for a trip. I'll admit the final hours, sometimes even the whole last day before I leave can be stressful. But there is something about preparing to go that I find rewarding and being equipped for every situation that arises on the road -- fulfilling.

This trip has had a good start; breakfast with Scrunchiolo, time with the pups, a safe drive through autumn colors. I leave feeling safe, loved, well equipped for whatever lies ahead.

In addition to my work goals, I want to make time to play, time to see, soak up, and then share as much as I can. I want to spend some time organizing my thoughts (wish I'd brought my personal notebook) about our lives, our priorities, our goals; about E's revolution and making conscious decisions about how we spend our times, how we spend our lives.

Was it John Lennon who said something to the effect that life is what happens while we are busy making other plans? I don't want to be so focused on plans that I miss my life, but want to be fully engaged and making conscious choices about my life.

  1. I am so glad you are blogging your trip! I have a big cup o' tea and am making myself "unbusy" to get all caught up. :)

And yay for feeling "safe, loved, and well equipped"! What could be better?
