The microwave waltzed over next to the stove and the little cranny created between it and the wall made an excellent place for the knife block and cutting boards. The toaster and tea kettle are happy together, peering over the kitchen and feeling they are the king/queen of all they survey. I bet it makes them feel safe in their royalty to have the knives standing guard like that. Silly appliances.
The food processor is now easy to spin around, plug in, and shred twice a day. And there is still plenty of counter space for doing a little work. I think next week my project will be the area on the other side of the sink. I've let things sort of pile up there and it would be nice to have a bit more work space on that side as well. You know there just aren't enough electrical outlets. Anywhere. I am convinced.
Now is it true that things that are plugged in still draw a electricity? Maybe I should be unplugging everything after each use. Watching, "As Time Goes By", I can help but think how clever of those Brits to have switches on the outlets, so even though things are plugged in there's no juice unless the outlet is turned on.
My other project this morning was to convert an extra large tomato can into a treat container. I added a duct tape handle to the lid and two little handles to the sides of the container, lined it with a ziplock bag and filled it with the pups treats.
Since the pups are back to separate dry and wet food, I've added labels "Bella" and "Sophie" to the dry food bins. This is starting to look like a "pup feeding station", well except for the potatoes and onions. Hmmm. Potatoes and onions. That sounds like a yummy breakfast.
I think I'll make myself a bite to eat before I venture out into the world.
This is lovely. You did a great job with the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYou know something is wonky with the sort order on your blog. I've been checking your blog daily, but I didn't see this post, because there is an older post at the top of the list.
